Ethics and Social Responsibility

Ethics is said to be 'set of principles that serves as guidance; In other words, a moral principle(s) that differentiates from what is good or bad. Chevron's Conduct and Ethics Code have been built upon core values that highlight the principles that guide its business. Being one of the leaders in the industry, chevron is taking seriously, the conduct of its employees and requires questionable conduct to be reported. Chevron and its employees as a whole is committed to achieving a long-term reputation to conduct business with honesty and integrity. According to the statement made on its website, it states 'Our Business Conduct and Ethics Code provides information about how we conduct our day-to-day business activities according to the principles of The Chevron Way'.


 
Social Responsibility
The ability of a company to impact the society in a positive way is what should be deemed as 'social responsibility'. Chevron being one of the oil giant companies in the industry is committed to investing in communities positively, to pursue long-term projects with highly core strategic goals aligned with global and social priorities. Chevron has embarked on meaningful impact by focusing the majority of its spending on significant challenges in the regions where it operate. It has also established its primary philanthropic foundation to alleviate poverty in those communities, invested in several science/math and health programs.
